I started reading Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality because somebody linked to the part where he goes off on everything that is wrong about the rules of quidditch. It's a dumb sport. Then I kept reading more, because it's really funny: Harry analyzes everything with an unrelenting rationalism. He applies the scientific method to magic, and it's just fun to see all the holes poked in J. K. Rowling's world of magic. It's a great piece of fan fiction.
But it's way too long. I lasted about 25 chapters, which is maybe 300 or 400 pages worth of content. There are 122 chapters. Over 1800 pages worth. Wow. Sometimes less is more.
