This is a classic that everyone seems to know about, but few people have read. There's a good reason for that: dull, dull, dull. Everybody already knows that Dr. Jekyll turns into Mr. Hyde when he drinks a potion, so the element of suspense and horror is lost on us. What's left is dry, excruciatingly-long exposition.
I say skip it. It's not worth the read. This is a case where the idea of the book is better than the book itself.
