Well I did it. I read a Discworld book. It's not for me. I don't care for fantasy, nor do I enjoy novel-length attempts at humor. Guards! Guards is a funny fantasy novel. No thanks. I'm sure Terry Pratchett is a fine writer, but I didn't enjoy this one.
