Mr. Harrison's third Rat book is on par with the previous two. It hangs together better than the first one, and there is no deus ex machina as in the second. It's not a thrilling as the first two, but it is well written. However, it is a time travel story, and suffers from the inherent paradoxes involved in time travel. All in all, it's a decent novel. I recommend this novel to people who have read and enjoyed the first two Rat books.
