In the first Planet of Adventure book, Adam Reith crash-lands on the planet Tschai. In the first book, he tries to retrieve his spaceship from the Chasch, but fails. In Servants of the Wankh, Reith attempts to steal a spaceship from the Wankh. He succeeds, but is unable to pilot the craft; he crashes into a lake.
